Transactions are secured and verified through a technology called cryptography and recorded in a publicly distributed ledger, known as a blockchain. Please note the value of cryptocurrency fluctuates.

Users can send and receive forms of cryptocurrency using software called cryptocurrency wallets, a secure digital wallet.

When you make a cryptocurrency donation to Wounded Warrior Project, you will receive a confirmation of your transaction from BitPay. The confirmation will list the amount of cryptocurrency donated but not necessarily the value of such currency. If you provide your contact information, WWP will mail a letter acknowledging your donation approximately 4 to 6 weeks from the donation date. Speak to your financial or tax advisor for information on how to properly record your cryptocurrency donation on your personal tax return.
